# Integrated Steering Controllers Swift Drive Embeds a Force Feedback Wheel for Racing Immersion By Amy Duong | Published 2026-01-07 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swift-drive References: [gamesradar](https://www.gamesradar.com/hardware/gaming-controllers/gamesir-is-putting-a-direct-drive-sim-racing-wheel-on-a-controller-all-because-a-high-schooler-developed-it-in-their-dorm-room/) The [Swift Drive](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamesir-swift-drive) controller is a new gaming peripheral from [GameSir](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyclone-2) that integrates a miniature [force feedback steering wheel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hypersquare) directly into a traditional gamepad layout to enhance racing game experiences. The central wheel uses what the company describes as a direct drive motor and high-precision sensors to deliver responsive steering resistance and tactile feedback, while the surrounding grips, buttons, and triggers maintain standard control functions. The design aims to offer a more immersive racing simulation without requiring a full wheel-and-pedal setup. Wireless connectivity supports play across compatible gaming platforms, and the wheel’s rotation range is adjustable between lower degrees for casual play and wider degrees for a deeper simulation feel. Hall effect encoders and embedded haptic motors in joysticks and triggers complement the force feedback, helping simulate vehicle dynamics such as braking and traction changes.
