Located in the village of Suurupi, the home had another story added to it. Instead of keeping within the style of the existing home, the owners enlisted Muru & Pere Architects to come up with an [organic structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clay-house) that looks like a [rectangular nest](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timber-nest). With a modern interior decorated mostly in black and white, the Suurupi House is contemporary both inside and out. The crisscrossed sticks even cover windows and doors (although a huge panoramic window at the front of the extension can be seen), but the space remains open and inviting. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Organic Architecture:** The Suurupi House extension demonstrates the trend of incorporating organic structures into architectural designs. - **Integration of Nature:** The woven wood design of the Suurupi House extension highlights the growing trend of integrating nature and natural materials into architectural projects. - **Contemporary Minimalism:** The black and white interior of the Suurupi House extension reflects the trend of contemporary minimalism in interior design. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture and Construction:** Architects and builders can explore the use of organic structures in their designs, following the example of the Suurupi House extension. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can take inspiration from the contemporary minimalism showcased in the black and white interior of the Suurupi House extension. - **Sustainable Materials:** The woven wood design of the Suurupi House extension presents opportunities for the sustainable materials industry to create innovative and eco-friendly building solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Greenery-Surrounding Lush Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-house-1.md) - [Modular Wooden Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piil.md) - [Futuristic Curved Islandic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-nest-2.md) - [Introspective Charred Pine Extension](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-with-a-hidden-atrium.md) - [Gabled Annexe Vintage Cottages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solitgarreau-residence.md) - [Sustainable Off-Grid Remote Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daria-sheina.md) - [Star-Shaped House Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunniva-rosenberg.md) - [Estonian Forest-Based Wooden Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pro-house.md) - [Textured Modern House Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemp-house.md)
