Susu Laroche is a talented photographer who seems to like to capture the darker side of things. There's often a dark, gritty nature to her work and a bit of a [macabre, ghostly feel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macabre-spirits). The [black-and-white blurry theme](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nonnas-cam) kind of gives off a Blair Witch Project vibe. There's also a sense of mystique, since Laroche doesn't reveal fully reveal what's in the images. Some of the models she uses have been given the demonic treatment with darkened eyes and a creepy backdrop for a more frightening display. The dark theme that Laroche goes for is executed brilliantly. She manages to add a creepy factor that's both captivating and attractive. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Paranormal Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Exploring new techniques and technologies to capture ghostly and supernatural imagery in photography. - **Dark and Gritty Aesthetic:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing products and creating experiences that tap into the macabre and ghostly aesthetic in various industries. - **Mysterious and Intriguing Imagery:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing storytelling and marketing strategies that leverage the allure of mystery and intrigue through visual content. ### Where This Applies - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionizing the field of photography by pushing the boundaries of capturing paranormal phenomena and distinctive aesthetics. - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introducing unique and dark art and design concepts that appeal to individuals with a fascination for the paranormal and mysterious. - **Entertainment and Media:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating immersive and chilling experiences through films, video games, and interactive media that incorporate paranormal photography and themes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Horrifying Paranormal Vodkas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paranormal-reserve.md) - [Paranormal Mapping Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-town1.md) - [Ghostly Collaboration Camera Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hodinkee-x-leica-q2-ghost.md) - [Monochromatic Ghost Character Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monochromatic-ghost-character-sculptures.md) - [Blurry Abstract Photography Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-allusion.md) - [Ghost-Themed Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holiday-spirit.md) - [Ghostly Spiced Fragrances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poltergeist-eau-du-parfum.md) - [Globalized Spooky Destinations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spooky-adventures.md) - [Haunting Whisky Spirits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-weeping-spirit.md)
