Miró Rivera Architects – a firm based in Texas, does its part in developing a sustainable countryside with a prototype that embraces the modern contemporary practices in conscious architectural design. The building “provides its own heating and cooling via a geothermal system.” In addition, Miró Rivera Architects installs solar panels that ensure about 61% of the annual energy consumption. The water supply is replenished with a rain-gathering system – one that provides the [contemporary abode](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haus-am-lagnesberg) with 200 gallons per day. Of course, the rainwater is filtered through a high-tech pathway of charcoal and UV filters.

The house is built for a family who puts great emphasis on [eco-conscious living](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ocean-eye). With a strong belief in the future of the sustainable countryside, the “homeowners have initiated a dialogue with community officials” and aim to serve as a leading example for the move toward a greener existence.
