# Suspended Lounge Chairs The Reflex3 Swings and Rocks in Sleek Style By Elsa Blaine | Published 2009-01-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lounges-reflex3-swings-and-rocks-in-sleek-style References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2009/01/22/the-reflex3-chair-by-peter-opsvik/#more-3453) & [naturellement.no](http://www.naturellement.no/) The Reflex3 lounge chair by Norwegian designer [Peter Opsvik](http://opsvik.no/index.asp) suspends you stylishly while you rock away your worries. The swing-like seat and backrest allows a free-floating feeling while the chrome rails provide a rocking motion. The design of the chair is sleek, modern and would be visually light and unassuming in a small space. Add the [cylindrical footrest](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calma-lounge)/end table, and you’ve got extreme relaxation. I would love a Reflex3 chair for watching TV or better yet... ...one made of weather-proof materials for bird watching on the deck. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Suspended Furniture Design:** Innovative designs for suspended furniture that provide a free-floating feeling and sleek style for lounging or relaxing. - **Modern Rocking Chairs:** Creation and development of a new class of stylish, modern rocking chairs that add elegance and comfort to home and office spaces. - **Weather-proof Furniture:** Production of outdoor chairs that resist the elements and provide an enjoyable, stylish experience. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** Integrating suspended furniture and modern rocking chairs into the present furniture industry by manufacturing stylish and innovative chairs and seating solutions. - **Outdoor Living:** Creating outdoor living spaces with weather-proof furniture designed to resist harsh environmental conditions. - **Home Decor:** Developing comfortable yet stylish piece of seating furniture for the home or office environment. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Outdoor Swings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-swing.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md) - [Peaceful Geometric Hanging Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iko-hanging-chair.md) - [Modernized Rocking Chair Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodding-chair.md) - [Ergonomic Relaxation Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zephyr-lounger.md) - [Traditional Vibrant Outdoor Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/net-lounge.md) - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-rocking-chair.md) - [Wavy Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-lounge-chair.md)
