# Macabre Pop Art Muaro Peruccheti's Disarming Life-Sized Sculptures By Cowbag | Published 2009-03-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-macabre-sculptures-muaro-peruccheti-disarms-weapons References: [mauroperucchetti](http://www.mauroperucchetti.com/) The work of Mauro Peruccheti is brilliantly strange and I totally adore it. Amazing once enlarged to giant size, the [bullets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Porsche-911-carrera) (image 5) appear less threatening and more sculptural. Similarly, his [grenade piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-into-darkness) (image 7) turns these dangerous weapons into something you would quite like to see in your bathroom. His pieces also have a really strong sense of humor, such as the [silver soldier Oscar statue piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-vuitton-octopus) which is entitled “And The Award Goes To.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Giant-sized Sculptures:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the use of oversized sculptures in various industries like public art, marketing, and tourism. - **Decontextualization of Dangerous Objects:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Repurpose dangerous objects like bullets and grenades in creative ways, such as turning them into artistic installations or functional objects. - **Humorous Artwork:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate humor into various industries such as home decor, advertising, and entertainment, by using quirky and unexpected art pieces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Sculpture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine traditional sculpture techniques with unconventional materials to create thought-provoking and conversation-starting artworks. - **Tourism and Travel:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Attract tourists by showcasing oversized sculptures in public spaces, creating unique landmarks and photo opportunities. - **Home Decor and Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer unconventional and humorous home decor pieces that bring a touch of eccentricity and playfulness to living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Americana Subculture-Themed Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bullet-proof.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Performance Art Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-pop.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Explosion-Damaged Sculpture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-into-darkness.md) - [Peace-Centric Oversized Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peace-head.md)
