Due to her lack of space in her tiny, cramped apartment, she was inspired to make furniture that would fit in tight spots. Her [whimsical creations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fico) show that she wants to believe in a different form of reality. As Jang says, “My work represents who and where we are as human beings: in the midpoint of that constant struggle between reality and the ideal.” Taking on an Alice and Wonderland vibe, these creations will make you laugh, and *then* ponder on their seating efficiency. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Surreal Furniture:** Reimagined and twisted versions of traditional furniture, creating unique and whimsical designs. - **Space-saving Furniture:** Designs that are specifically made to fit into tight spots, providing functionality in small living spaces. - **Artistic Furniture Manipulation:** Artistic techniques applied to furniture design, creating visually striking and thought-provoking pieces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate surrealist furniture concepts into their projects for a creative and unique touch. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Potential to embrace the space-saving furniture trend and produce innovative solutions for small living spaces. - **Art and Sculpture:** Scope for artists and sculptors to explore furniture manipulation as a form of artistic expression and create visually stunning pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Transformative Furniture Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metamorphosis-collection-2.md) - [Chic Norm-Challenging Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wiggle-collection.md) - [Playful Toy-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frunchroom-furniture-collection.md) - [Whimsical Childlike Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-eternal-child.md) - [Modern Curvy Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curvy-furniture-design.md) - [Performance Art Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-pop.md) - [Curvaceous Linoleum Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linoleum-furniture-collection.md) - [Balloon-Like Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seungjin-yang.md) - [Dynamic Moving-Illusion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-furniture.md)
