Augmedics, an Israeli start-up, created 'Vizor,' a [surgical augmented reality system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vision-discovery) that's offering surgeons enhanced perception in the operating room.

Vizor separates itself from other variations of [computer-assisted surgery systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woxsen-university) as it enables the surgeon to stay focused on the patient, instead of looking at a screen, offering a more realistic and ergonomic experience. Complete with high-powered sensors, this device utilizes the patient's CT scans, to offer surgeons an augmented method of spine detection in real time. This way, doctors can quickly determine and pinpoint the orientation of the patient's proportions, as well as the various tools, which are placed inside the patient's body to aid in the surgery.

Although not available yet, Vizor, is expected to be ready for surgeries within the next two years.
