Located in Montauk — a [small beach town](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasparakisfriel) in Long Island, this surf house boasts a dark exterior, connected gabled roofs and large windows. New York-based firm T W Ryan Architecture does a wonderful job in creating a contrast between the [all-dark home exterior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/texas-residence) and the surrounding landscape. The surf house is going through a restoration process, in order to meet the lifestyle and taste of a young family.

Utilizing smart layout design, the interior of the house is completely rearranged by T W Ryan Architecture. The firm incorporated a brand new wrapping stairwell that soundly connects the lower and upper floors. The positioning of the addition grants "space for a new entry hall, indoor/outdoor bathroom and for the garage to be converted into a bedroom."
