The Jim Lee Blueline Superman is a 6.75" figure that looks as though it is a paper drawing that has suddenly come to life as a 3D sketch. While the figure is the centerpiece of this [collector's item](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-toys-2), the package also includes an art piece by Jim Lee. This is a unique model that reminds superhero fans how a character comes to exist before they are presented to the public in a published comic book format. Last year, DC Comics revealed a similar model, a [sketch-inspired Batman](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawing-series) also drawn by artist Jim Lee, but this Superhero version will be much easier for collectors to get their hands on. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/toys) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sketch-inspired Superhero Figurines:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the market for sketch-inspired collectibles in the superhero genre. - **Designer Series Collectibles:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of designer series collectibles that blend art and pop culture. - **3D Sketching in Figurines:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a technology or technique to create realistic 3D sketch-like figurines. ### Where This Applies - **Comic Collectibles:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce limited edition comic collectibles that offer a unique visual experience. - **Art and Pop Culture Merchandise:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine art and pop culture to create merchandise that appeals to collectors and fans. - **Toy Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with artists to incorporate sketch-inspired designs into mainstream toy manufacturing. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Superhero-Themed DIY Art Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jim-lee-batman.md) - [Comic Book Hero Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comic-book-heros.md) - [Buildable 3D Superhero Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gotham-city-skyline-set.md) - [Miniature Japanese Superhero Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultraman-figure.md) - [Cartoon Superhero Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crimson-hawk-ranger.md) - [Limited-Edition Vinyl Figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/limitededition-vinyl-figures.md) - [Artist-Designed Toy Lineups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-toy-series.md) - [3D Superhero Block-Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazing-spiderman-set.md) - [Hyper-Detailed Superhero Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-toys-the-flash-batman-and-batcycle.md)
