# Algae-Powered Metal Lung Concepts The 'Super Lung' Metal Lungs Concept is Efficient By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2021-12-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-lung References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2021/12/27/metal-lungs-concept-uses-algae-to-suck-in-atmospheric-carbon-dioxide-and-replace-it-with-oxygen/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=metal-lungs-concept-uses-algae-to-suck-in-atmospheric-carbon-dioxide-and-replace-it-with-oxygen) The 'Super Lung' metal lungs concept has been designed by Bongkyu Song, Moon Kyungwon and Jeon Joonho as a futuristic breathing solution that draws inspiration from the structure of avian lungs. The ultra-futuristic lungs make use of anterior air sacs that push the air through a radiator grill-like section that functions much like air flowing through an internal combustion engine. This would help to secure more oxygen for use in higher altitude areas, while also working to reduce the generation of active oxygen by utilizing [efficient respiration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alveos-one). The 'Super Lung' metal lungs concept would work to completely change the [human respiratory system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ebcare-mask) that utilizes more than 25,000 breaths a day by enabling oxygenation to be achieved with just one single breath. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 11% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Efficient Metal Lungs:** The 'Super Lung' metal lungs concept offers a futuristic breathing solution that improves oxygenation efficiency with just one breath. - **Avian-inspired Respiratory Systems:** The avian-inspired structure of the 'Super Lung' metal lungs concept offers new possibilities for efficient respiratory systems. - **Reduction of Active Oxygen Generation:** The efficient respiration mechanism of the 'Super Lung' metal lungs concept offers possibilities for reducing active oxygen generation while securing more oxygen for use in higher altitude areas. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Medical Devices:** The 'Super Lung' metal lungs concept could disrupt the medical devices industry by offering a futuristic breathing solution for people with respiratory issues. - **Aviation:** The avian-inspired structure of the 'Super Lung' metal lungs concept offers new possibilities for efficient respiratory systems in aviation. - **Environmental Protection:** The reduction of active oxygen generation mechanism in the 'Super Lung' metal lungs concept offers possibilities for environmental protection applications. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wearable Oxygen Support Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-o2-patch.md) - [See-Through Medical Device Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyberpunk-inhaler.md) - [Lung Health-Tracking Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airpen-spirometer.md) - [Air-Blowing Face Masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-mask.md) - [Future-Focused Air-Filtering Suits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voice-in-sight.md) - [AI-Powered Lung Ultrasounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deep-breathe.md) - [Algae-Powered Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/algenair-aerium.md) - [Mini Mountaineering Oxygen Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inogi-r1-oxygen-generator.md) - [Digital Breath Training Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/athletic-breathing-trainer.md)
