# Long-Lasting Beach Chairs Sunflow's Durable Beach Chair Focuses on Comfort & Portability By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2020-07-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunflow-beach-chair References: [fastcompany](https://www.fastcompany.com/90522390/this-beach-chair-is-so-well-designed-youll-happily-drop-200-on-it?cid=eem524:524:s00:07/04/2020_fc&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=Compass&utm_campaign=eem524:524:s00:07/04/2020_fc) & [getsunflow](https://getsunflow.com/products/signature-beach-chair) Beach chairs tend to be poorly made and uncomfortable, merely offering people somewhere to sit other than a towel or the sand. Sunflow saw the opportunity for a better beach chair to be created and it collaborated with [Fuseproject](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moooi-peaks-sofa), the industrial design firm founded by Yves Behar, to develop a design to offer more comfort, portability and durability. Complete with a headrest and armrests, the beach chair looks a lot like a spacious lounge chair but it collapses neatly into a small shape that can be carried with its own backpack straps. Unlike many cheaply made outdoor furniture designs, this beach chair boasts a high-quality, [rust-resistant coated aluminum frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldseat) and synthetic, water-resistant fabric. The design is built to last and the Sunflow chairs nearly sold out at a June pop-up in the Hamptons.
