Although it might be more appropriate to pay homage to [sun goddesses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/goddess-collection) during times of rain and snow, Sundust by Sara Golish, a visual artist based in Toronto, Canada, is a series also appropriate for the summer season. After all, this is when they shine the brightest. Comprised of ten [fictional deities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-collection), the portraits are created using charcoal, conté and gold ink.

A departure from her signature style, Sundust by Sara Golish was shown at Brockton Collective during the [summer solstice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gurhan-selections). Inspired by the women of Africa, the studio writes, "Compelled by the lack of female personified sun deities, Golish aims to revise and re-examine the male dominated sun god through the recasting of the past in order to re-envision the future." Strong and beautiful, these are gods everyone can celebrate.
