# Folded Steel Lamp Stands The Sunday Wall Light Provides a Small Storage Surface and a Soft Glow By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-10-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunday-wall-light References: [northernlighting.no](http://northernlighting.no/?produkter=sunday) It's only natural to have a weakness for dual-purpose domestic objects, even and especially the ones that take basic forms like the Sunday Wall Light. This compact home accessory offers a lovely little ledge for the storage of a variety of items, as well as a convertible fixture to provide soft illumination. A single sheet of powder-coated stainless steel constructs the shelf and the mount backing, made possible by a 90-degree fold in the material. The piece can be effectively attached to the wall in one of two orientations. Connected to this is a simple tubular holder in which a lightbulb can be screwed. The design of Martina Carpelan and Frost Produkt's Sunday Wall Light also allows the fixture to act as a candle holder if a more ambient glow is preferred. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Dual-purpose Domestic Objects:** Opportunity to create more products that serve multiple functions and provide convenience to users. - **Compact Home Accessories:** Potential for designing space-saving solutions that offer practicality and style. - **Convertible Fixtures:** Possibility of developing versatile lighting options that can be adjusted for different lighting needs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Potential for creating innovative furniture and decor pieces that combine functionality and aesthetics. - **Home Organization:** Opportunity to develop storage solutions that maximize space and offer additional features. - **Lighting Design:** Potential for designing unique lighting fixtures that offer customizable illumination options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Folded Timber Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flatpack-timber-lamp.md) - [Storage-Friendly Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storage-lamp.md) - [Flat-Pack Paper Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tsubomi.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Minimal Aesthetic Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-light.md) - [Origami-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ori-lamp.md) - [Metal Pleated Wall Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donna-wall-light.md) - [Modern Affordable Wall Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poplight-wall-light.md) - [Wall-Mounted Ambient Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-varmblixt-collection.md)
