The suitcase is characterized by its ability to function as a way to carry personal essentials between locations, but also continues functioning upon arrival at a destination. The suitcase can be positioned next to the bed where it will work as a [bedside table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-sleep-nightstand) with space for storing items and even a light for reading. The suitcase design also accommodates the need to power up essential technology products and boasts a dedicated section for a [power bank](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luggical). A built-in cord keeper will ensure the cable is always within reach. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 75% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Travel](https://www.trendhunter.com/travel) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Suitcases:** Opportunity to disrupt the traditional luggage market with innovation such as built-in charging, storage, and tech capabilities. - **Hybrid Furniture:** Creating multi-functional furniture can disrupt the traditional home goods industry by providing consumers with space-saving and versatile products. - **Travel Experience Enhancements:** Innovations aimed at enhancing travel experiences such as the Suitcase-Table can disrupt the hospitality industry by offering unique and convenient features for hotel guests. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Luggage:** Innovation opportunities exist in the luggage industry through the incorporation of features such as built-in charging, storage, and tech capabilities to create smart suitcases. - **Furniture:** Opportunities for disruption and growth exist for furniture manufacturers through the creation of multi-functional pieces like the Bedside Table-Equipped Suitcase by Mark Michell. - **Hospitality:** Incorporating enhancements like the Suitcase-Table in hotel rooms can be a disruptive innovation opportunity and improve guest experience, potentially impacting the hospitality industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lounge Chair Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bagletti-suitcase.md) - [Closet-Equipped Luggage Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flightable-closet.md) - [Functional Furniture Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lulley-luggage-trolley.md) - [Business Traveler Suitcase Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/capsule-luggage.md) - [Chic Shadow Effect Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suitcase-of-the-light.md) - [Tech-Packed Bedroom Nightstands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-bedside-table.md) - [Wardrobe-Style Luggage Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drobe-luggage.md) - [Collapsible Space-Saving Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jollying-pebble-suitcase.md) - [Stroller-Equipped Suitcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easy-journey-suitcase.md)
