# Seed-Filled Pills The Subversive Gardener Concept by Vanessa Harden is a Stealthy Planting Plan By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2011-06-13 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/subversive-gardener References: [notcot](http://www.notcot.com/archives/2011/04/vanessa-harden-seed-pills.php) & [vanessaharden](http://www.vanessaharden.com/) Vanessa Harden has designed a sneaky way to infuse the world with more greenery in her Subversive Gardener concept. The project consists of seed-filled pills and several everyday objects redesigned to launch these seed pills in a stealthy way. Among the unexpected objects in the Subversive Gardener concept include the Pistol, a reworked gun that instead digs a hole for the seeds to be dropped into; the Walking Stick, a hollow cane that drops seeds at the user's will; and the Pill Box, a series of unassuming vessels that house seed pills. Vanessa Harden's Subversive Gardener concept is imbued with Victorian aesthetics and ideals, but it's a thoroughly modern approach to our urbanized world. Would you use one of these designs to green up your city? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Seed-filled Pills:** The use of seed-filled pills presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the field of urban gardening by providing a stealthy and convenient method for greenery infusion. - **Stealthy Planting:** The concept of stealthy planting opens up disruptive innovation opportunities in the realm of urban beautification by enabling covert seed dispersal using everyday objects. - **Reimagined Everyday Objects:** The reimagining of everyday objects as seed dispersal tools creates disruptive innovation opportunities in the design industry, blurring the line between utility and sustainable practices. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Urban Gardening:** The urban gardening industry can benefit from disruptive innovation by embracing the concept of seed-filled pills and stealthy plant installations to enhance green spaces in cities. - **Covert Design:** The field of covert design holds disruptive innovation opportunities by incorporating seed dispersal mechanisms into commonly used objects, promoting sustainable practices in urban environments. - **Sustainable Design:** The sustainable design industry can explore disruptive innovation by reimagining everyday objects to serve as surreptitious tools for urban planting, merging aesthetics and sustainable practices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Self-Watering Compact Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patella-crescenda.md) - [Building Block Gardening Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-planterior.md) - [Chic Self-Watering Garden Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glowpear-mini-bench.md) - [Container-Based Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bottle-farm-mini.md) - [Four-in-One Herb Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harry-herbs-indoor-herb-garden.md) - [Uniquely Shaped Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-watering-plant-house.md) - [Portable Minimal Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balconyfarm-planter.md) - [Furniture-Inspired Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-garden-system.md) - [Dementia Support Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-smart-planter.md)
