# Topsy-Turvy Storage Systems The Su Bookcases Promote Orderliness with Disorderly Designs By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-12-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/su-bookcases References: [designyouedit](http://www.designyouedit.com/products/) Some people claim that they operate better with something called an "organized mess," and perhaps the Su Bookcases are ideal items for inclusion in such effectively cluttered homes. Dreamed up by Design You Edit, the collection of three [shelving units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/original-modern-shelving) caters to different chaotic corners of your house or office. The W Su Line is a [wall-mounted unit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pli-steel-wall-shelf) that can be arranged either vertically or horizontally according to preference. The [irregularly shaped cubbies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puzzle-shelf) connect together in an apparently haphazard order that creates small gaps that provide additional nooks for stashing your stuff. A similar display is presented with the Su Line bookshelf that lies longways across the floor, and with the single Su shelf that stands precariously upright. The metal-manufactured Su Bookcases free up so many surfaces and provide that familiar sight of disorganization. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Disorganized Storage Solutions:** Design innovative storage solutions that cater to those who prefer an 'organized mess'. - **Modular and Customizable Shelving:** Develop shelving units that can be arranged in different configurations for maximum flexibility and functionality. - **Irregular Shapes and Gaps in Design:** Incorporate irregular shaping and gaps to create additional storage nooks and enhance the overall design ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can create unique and customized furniture for customers who value creativity and functionality in design. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can utilize these shelving units as a way to incorporate style and storage into clients' homes or offices. - **Home Organization Products:** Develop and market products specifically designed for those who prefer 'organized messes' and unique storage solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Video Game-Like Bookcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-bookcase.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Living Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treevive.md) - [Dynamic Storage-Display Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life.md) - [Design-Forward Interlinked Storage Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interlinked-storage.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Modular Organized Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unit-shelving-system.md) - [Twisting CGI-Designed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookscrew-sideboard.md)
