# Cutlery Furniture Studio Verissimo Turns Plastic Spoons into an Eco-Friendly Table Design By Rachel | Published 2009-08-14 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-verissimo-spoon-table References: [cubeme](http://cubeme.com/blog/2009/08/11/spoon-table-by-studio-verissimo/) & [ecofriend.org](http://www.ecofriend.org/entry/eco-arts-studio-verissimo-designs-stunning-furniture-from-discarded-coffee-stirrers/) We've featured [Studio Verissimo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duk-series) before for their use of plastic spoons to create a fun chandelier, but now the designers have taken the plastic spoon design a step further with a fun red plastic spoon table. The plastic spoon table from Studio Verissimo uses hundreds of melted plastic spoons to create a usable table design. It seems like a good use of unneeded plastics, and makes for a fun table design! **Implications** - My guess is that each of these tables is also one-of-a-kind as each one is made with a different set of cutlery. These will certainly make a statement in your home or office! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Upcycled Furniture:** Designers are turning waste materials into usable and eco-friendly furniture designs. - **Unique Home Decor:** Consumers are seeking one-of-a-kind and environmentally conscious pieces to decorate their homes. - **Sustainable Design:** The popularity of sustainable design is driving innovation in the use of recycled materials for furniture and decor. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can tap into the growing market for sustainable design and create unique pieces using upcycled materials like plastic spoons. - **Home Decor:** Home decor retailers can offer environmentally conscious consumers unique and eye-catching pieces like the plastic spoon table from Studio Verissimo. - **Environmental Sustainability:** Businesses focused on sustainability can explore opportunities to upcycle waste materials into new products, like Studio Verissimo's use of plastic spoons for furniture design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sustainable Side Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/re-up-side-tables.md) - [Speculative Cutlery Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evolving-spoon.md) - [Recycled Yogurt Pot-Constructed Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-series-ii.md) - [Sustainable Colorful Multifunctional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superpop.md) - [Chic Sustainable Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sustainable-side-table.md) - [Recycled Plastic Decor Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plastplan-design-studio.md) - [Upcycled Plastic Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crafting-plastic.md) - [Recycled Plastic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bristol-plastic-factory.md) - [Styrofoam Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trashy.md)
