# Hologram-Hiding Furnishings The Studio Swine Prism Cabinet Contains an Art Installation By Trenton Millar | Published 2012-10-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-swine-prism-cabinet References: [itsnicethat](http://www.itsnicethat.com/articles/studio-swine-prism-cabinet) & [studioswine](http://www.studioswine.com/STUDIO_SWINE/Main.html) A mix of art, technology and furniture, the [Studio Swine Prism Cabinet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/draga-aurel1) keeps a hologram hidden inside. The outside of the cabinet is remarkable in itself. Made from [reclaimed London hardwood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/don-heston-studio), the different shades and colors of wood come together to create a geometric collage pattern. Open up the doors of this piece and inside, you will find a 180 degree [holographic representation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-holographic-projector) of Keiichi Matsuda's Prism installation. This art installation visualizes data about London, like what the weather is and how much power the city is using at a time. Since you can't really put anything in the Studio Swine Prism Cabinet because of the hologram, perhaps you should think of it more like a really cool table. I would love to put a record player on top of it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Art-tech Fusion:** Combining art and technology in furniture design creates innovative and experiential products. - **Holographic Experiences:** Incorporating holograms into everyday objects opens up opportunities for interactive and immersive experiences. - **Data Visualization Furniture:** Furniture that visually represents data allows for a unique and aesthetically pleasing way of understanding information. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** The furniture industry can explore incorporating art and technology to create visually stunning and interactive products. - **Art Installations:** Incorporating holographic elements into art installations can enhance the immersive experience for viewers. - **Data Visualization:** The field of data visualization can utilize furniture design to present information in a more engaging and visually appealing manner. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Slick Modern Holographic Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holographic-fireplace.md) - [Cabinet-Concealed Modern Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obelisk-3.md) - [Holographic Fragrance Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-perfume-shop-holographic-technology.md) - [Optical Illusion Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical.md) - [Meeting-Enhanced 3D Holograms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holobox.md) - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Minimal Four-Legged Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exposure-cabinet.md) - [Contemporary Stereo Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-record-bureau.md) - [Hyper-Realistic Holograms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solidlight.md)
