# Elephant-Inspired Plushies The 'Stuffed Shadow Big' by Studio Marte is Adorably Large By Ana Lopez | Published 2012-01-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-marte References: [studiomarte.nl](http://www.studiomarte.nl/?section=product-design&tag=stuffed-shadow) For those who enjoy the relaxing effects of cuddling with a big, [comfy cushion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/squishpillow-by-original-squishmallows), the 'Stuffed Shadow Big' by [Studio Marte](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghibli-bag-collection) is the perfect snuggling buddy. This [giant plushy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hugz) was created by the Netherlands-based company as part of a series of design experiments. Intrigued by the concept of shadows, the studio produced some oddly shaped cushions to study this idea. Although this object looks like an elephant, there's also something bizarre about its shape. Both its grey color and slightly deformed silhouette make it appear as a big shadow laying on the sofa or the floor. Regardless of its shape, the minimalist plushy by Studio Marte is irresistibly comfortable and cute -- a good reason to take a nap wherever and whenever you like. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Giant Plushies:** Opportunity for creating oversized, unconventional plush toys that provide relaxation and comfort. - **Design Experiments:** Innovation opportunities in exploring unconventional and abstract shapes for household products. - **Minimalist Comfort:** Creating simple yet irresistibly comfortable and cute objects for relaxation and leisure. ### Who This Affects Most - **Toy Manufacturing:** Potential for developing and manufacturing oversized plush toys with unique designs. - **Product Design:** Opportunities in experimenting with unconventional shapes and minimalistic designs for various products. - **Home Decor:** Creating unconventional and eye-catching home decor items, such as oversized plush cushions with unique shapes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Oversized Hollow Pillow Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floof-snuggle-sack-and-floor-pillow.md) - [Man-Sized Cuddly Teddy Bears](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loving-bear-puffy.md) - [Comforting Pillow Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comforting-pillow.md) - [Comforting Plush Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloudheads.md) - [Sensory Plush Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mooshmoosh.md) - [Warming Weighted Plushies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heartwarming-hugs.md) - [Adorable Plush Mascot Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mastodon-mascot.md) - [Two-In-One Plush Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cute-animal-pillow-with-blanket.md) - [Dense Cuddlable Plushies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleepy-blobfish-plushie.md)
