Polish-American architect Daniel Libeskind of Studio Libeskind designs a new [modern extension](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sirius-building) to the notable Boerentoren tower located in Antwerp, Belgium.

This tower is transforming into a 'public space for art' and it was announced by the studio to a Flemish broadcaster VRT, stating that "In its day the Boerentoren was an unprecedented [art deco design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uxbridge-bower), just like the Empire State Building in New York, where I live. It was a private building with flats and offices. Today we are transforming the entire complex into a public space for art." The restoration work has begun and notably, it will not exceed the cathedral height. It will also add a [glass tower](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safdie-architects-1) to the back side of the elevated surface.
