# Flower Petal Pavilions Studio IwamotoScott's Flowery Wood 'Voussoir Cloud' Structure By Rachel | Published 2009-08-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-iwamotoscott-voussoir-cloud References: [dailytonic](http://www.dailytonic.com/voussoir-cloud-by-iwamotoscott-with-buro-happold/) & [iwamotoscott](http://www.iwamotoscott.com/) Studio [IwamotoScott](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-chengdu-pavilion) has created a pavilion called 'Voussoir Cloud' that is made of three-dimensional petals formed from wood laminate. The Studio IwamotoScott 'Voussoir Cloud' design is a [pretty floral design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pivoine), letting outer light shine in through the open petals. The design is also cool because every petal is slightly different, creating a uniqueness you wouldn't expect from [wood laminate architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybrid-flax-pavilion). **Implications** - The brusque, cold and impersonal feel of modernist architecture has long worn out its welcome with the modern consumer and this has given way to buildings and structures that embrace an altogether more positive aesthetic. Designs like this reflect this movement, and companies or organizations looking to design buildings designed to attract customers and sightseers would do well to take note. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 82% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Flower-petal Architecture:** Architecture designs embracing positive aesthetics incorporating natural elements into the structure offer an opportunity for disruptive innovation in modern architecture and design. - **Unique Wood Laminate Designs:** Creating uniqueness in every petal of wood laminate structures can pave the way for disruptive innovations in eco-friendly architecture, furniture, and interior design. - **Personalization in Structural Design:** Incorporating unique features into structural designs, like Studio IwamotoScott's 'Voussoir Cloud' pavilion, creates a personalized experience for customers and sightseers and opens up opportunities for disruptive innovation in architecture and engineering. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** The rise of flower-petal architecture can bring disruptive innovation opportunities for architects and urban planners to embrace eco-friendliness and positive aesthetics in building design. - **Furniture Design:** The unique wood laminate designs of Studio IwamotoScott's 'Voussoir Cloud' pavilion can inspire furniture designers to bring disruptive innovation in creating eco-friendly and distinctive pieces for customers. - **Interior Design:** Personalization and unique features in structural design, like those in the 'Voussoir Cloud' pavilion, offer opportunities for disruptive innovation in interior design by incorporating natural elements and creating positive aesthetics in living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lily-Shaped Reusable Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/srivan.md) - [Light Filtered Glulam Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paviljong-rosendal.md) - [Mushroom-Like Wooden Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carbon-garden-pavilion.md) - [Woodland-Inspired Timber Office Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavilion-jardins.md) - [Interactive Architectural Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-landscape.md) - [Public Pavilion Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tess-pavilion.md) - [Organic Spiral Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasona-natureverse-pavilion.md) - [Bamboo Forest Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazon-rainforest-pavilion.md) - [Eucalyptus Wood Curved Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/armadillo-pavilion.md)
