# Simplistic String Lamps The Stringa is Made with a Minimalistic Materials That Pack Big Style By Michael Nieto | Published 2014-01-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/string-lamps References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/stringa-lamp-sebastiano-tonelli/) & [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/Stringa/10613123) This Stringa is a [simple yet warm set](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-delta-lamp) of string lamps that were designed by Sebastiano Tonelli. He uses a thin layer of birch wood to eliminate the overall bulkiness. In this design, he also creates folds, a node and one simple string to craft its structure. The red string used to wrap around the lamp makes a neat complement to its simple and effective use. This lamp actually transforms what was once a [two-dimensional sheet into a three-dimensional one](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ori-lamp) to craft a dynamic exterior. The sculptured wooden folds that discretely tuck into each other make an interesting appeal to its linear surrounding. These string lamps would make a great addition to modern home decor for bedrooms or living rooms as a pleasant lighting fixture. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Minimalistic Lighting:** Explore the trend of using minimalist materials and designs for lighting fixtures. - **Sculptural Home Decor:** Discover the trend of incorporating sculptural elements into home decor items like lamps. - **Transformative Design:** Explore the trend of creating dynamic and transformative designs using simple materials. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can explore incorporating minimalist lighting fixtures into modern home decor projects for a clean and stylish look. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can tap into the demand for sculptural home decor by creating unique lamps and lighting fixtures with a focus on artistic and functional design. - **Product Design:** Product designers can find opportunities in developing transformative designs that use simple materials, offering customers dynamic and visually appealing products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Posh Paper Craft-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/japandi-lamp.md) - [Organically Shaped Shadow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp.md) - [Pine Wood-Inspired Minimal Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jakobsson.md) - [Simplistically Complex 3D-Printed Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sopp-lamp.md) - [Twisting Timber Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-lasercut-wooden-lampshade.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Metal Thread Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-lamp.md) - [Raw Minimalist Pine Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoop-table-lamp.md)
