Shift Architecture Urbanism created a concept that adapts the design of [street food markets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pullman-market) to support social distancing during the time of a global pandemic. The Hyperlocal Micro Markets offer a way for people to enjoy fresh air and purchase fresh produce from local producers, all while maintaining a safe distance from others. The design is based around a [system of grids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/umbrella-crate-stall) that can be set up to make it easy for people to follow the recommended guidelines for separation.

The [public market concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-market-place) was developed to relieve pressure on supermarkets and give people a safe and alternative means of keeping themselves fed. The solution is also one that considers vulnerable groups that may not be able to afford supermarket shopping.
