This is likely because it was billed as “The largest American & European Street Art Exhibition in New York.” It drew a diversity of artists, collectors, gallery personnel and other art-loving spectators. I would have loved to have been there. **Implications** - At one time graffiti was considered unappealing and slanderous. Today's culture appreciates the unique [spray painted art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rusto) and gives it the credit it deserves. By putting hosting shows for graffiti it is showing that people are enjoying new and [unconventional types of art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-in-motion-exhibition). This gives an opportunity for artists to try pushing the boundaries in their artworks to receive attention. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Rise of Street Art:** The whole in the wall exhibition showcases the growing appreciation and popularity of street art, creating opportunities for artists to push boundaries and gain recognition. - **Acceptance of Graffiti:** The exhibition highlights the shift in cultural perception towards graffiti as a legitimate form of art, opening up new avenues for artists to express themselves and challenge conventional ideas. - **Global Influences in Street Art:** The American and European street art exhibition in New York demonstrates the cross-cultural exchange and inspiration within the street art movement, encouraging artists to explore diverse styles and techniques. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art Galleries:** Art galleries can tap into the growing interest in street art by hosting exhibitions that showcase the work of graffiti artists, attracting a diverse audience and fostering unconventional artistic expressions. - **Art Education:** Art education programs can incorporate street art into their curriculum to engage and inspire students, recognizing graffiti as a legitimate art form and encouraging creativity beyond traditional mediums. - **Marketing and Advertising:** Marketing and advertising professionals can collaborate with street artists to bring unique and eye-catching designs to their campaigns, leveraging the unconventional allure of graffiti to capture attention and stand out from competitors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Provoking Graffiti Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-ruggeri.md) - [Urban Sneaker-Inspired Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-of-graffiti1.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Digital Graffiti NFTs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graffiti-wall-collection.md) - [Battle-Style Art Events](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-art-of-competition.md) - [Collaborative Monochromatic Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collaborative-monochromatic-art-exhibition.md) - [Enigmatic Graffiti Incidents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enigmatic-graffiti.md) - [Street Art-Inspired Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/met-rooftop.md) - [Surreal Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeffrey-deitch-art-gallery.md)
