When first laying eyes on the Stratospheric Sculpture, I couldn’t help but be in awe of its [gravity-defying design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-tree). Yet I quickly I realized there are clever mechanics behind this [surreal installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eye-of-the-future) and I instead marvel at its workmanship.

Designed by Fletcher Vaughan, the Stratospheric sculpture is made from [opaque, white Corian plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-scad), which are painstakingly layered one at a time. For more images of the building process.
