# Protruding Potty Fixtures Strappo Sinks Offer a New Innovation in Fixture Style By Jose Gonzalez | Published 2011-11-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strappo-sink References: [cutedecision](http://cutedecision.com/creative-integrated-sinks-strappo-from-antonio-lupi-ideas-for-bathroom-design/) & [antoniolupi.it](http://www.antoniolupi.it/) Created by [Antonio Lupi](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antoniolupi-tubo), the Strappo sink is a clever new design alternative to the [traditional bowl-shaped sink](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posco) you're probably familiar with. Strappo translates to "tear," and the emphasis in the Strappo sink is for the tearing to go upwards. The Strappo sink has a very cool, futuristic look to it. The sort of sink you'd expect them to be using in a sci-fi movie where the world has been shaped by a singular sense of style. That might be a bit oppressive to think about, but in the real world, it gives life and reach to a new design which can evoke such a broad scope, even if that scope is just the stuff of movies. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Upward Tearing Fixtures:** Designing fixtures with an upward tearing design provides a unique aesthetic for those seeking a futuristic look. - **Alternative Sink Designs:** Offering alternative sink designs can appeal to customers seeking modern and innovative bathroom fixtures. - **Sci-fi Inspired Home Decor:** Creating home decor designs reminiscent of sci-fi movies can attract customers seeking unique and memorable pieces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Bathroom Fixtures:** Innovative bathroom fixtures have the potential to disrupt the traditional bowl-shaped sink market. - **Home Decor:** Innovative home decor designs can disrupt the market and appeal to customers seeking outlier pieces. - **Interior Design:** Futuristic-inspired designs can create opportunities for designers to experiment with unique and memorable aesthetics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Collaborative Seashell-Like Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spire-washbasin.md) - [Illuminated Base Bathroom Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antoniolupi-albumelux.md) - [Dynamic Marble Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinito.md) - [Reinventive Modern Kitchen Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-kitchen.md) - [Textural Bathroom Sink Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washbasin-collection.md) - [Sculptural 3D-Printed Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3d-printed-sink.md) - [Angular Ceramic Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/angle-washbasin.md) - [Tech-Equipped Kitchen Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-kitchen-sink.md) - [Slick Bathroom Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slick-bathroom-sink.md)
