Inspired by various Stranger Things characters, the baked goods are decorated either in a direct reference to a person on the show or are simply inspired by their essence. You can make your own if you need a snack to munch on as you continue binge watching episodes, something to eat if you can't sleep after watching the spooky show or are simply a big fan of the program. The Stranger Things cupcakes include a nod to the mysterious Eleven with miniature Eggo toppings, references to [Hopper's love for cigars and donuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krispy-kreme-x-hulu) as well as recreated Christmas lights. One dessert features a color scheme that takes inspiration from Barb's wardrobe while another is garnished with a Nilla wafer for Dustin. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Netflix Original Series:** Opportunity for creating themed baked goods based on popular Netflix shows. - **Character-inspired Cupcakes:** Opportunity to create cupcakes that reference specific characters from popular TV shows. - **Pop Culture-inspired Desserts:** Opportunity to create desserts that are inspired by popular movies or TV shows. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Bakery Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for bakeries to create themed cupcakes based on popular TV shows or movies. - **Entertainment Industry:** Opportunity for entertainment companies to collaborate with bakeries to create officially licensed TV show or movie-themed desserts. - **Event Planning Industry:** Opportunity to incorporate character-inspired desserts into themed events or parties based on popular TV shows or movies. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi Series Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stranger-things-scoops-ahoy-ice-cream.md) - [Collab Kitchen Tools Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stranger-things-x-williams-sonoma.md) - [Nostalgic Series-Inspired Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chips-ahoy-x-stranger-things.md) - [TV Show-Inspired Waffles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eggo-stranger-things-hawkins-homestyle-waffles.md) - [80s-Style Sci-Fi Pizzas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surfer-boy-pizzas.md) - [Television Tie-In Cookbooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stranger-things-the-official-cookbook.md) - [Mysterious Sci-Fi Series Lollipops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chupa-chups-x-stranger-things.md) - [Retro Sci-Fi Cereal Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stranger-things-cereals.md) - [Sci-Fi Ice Cream Giveaways](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/free-ice-cream-for-a-year.md)
