# Hanging Three-Legged Stools Bla Station's Stove Chair is Inspired by Shaker Furniture By Joey Haar | Published 2017-12-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stove-chair References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2017/12/19/gabriel-tan-bla-station-launch-shaker-inspired-stove-stool-design-furniture/) & [gabriel-tan](http://www.gabriel-tan.com/) Shaker furniture has long been applauded for its [sturdy minimalism](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedeo-chair), and the Stove chair from Swedish design studio [Bla Station](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pocket-chair) and designer Gabriel Tan takes inspiration from those [19th century American craftspeople](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nick-beens). The chair-stool hybrid has a simple, elegant design that not only adds utility to one's home, but makes it easier to create extra space in a pinch. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the Stove chair is its inventive storage solution. Rather than stacking, the chair features a single hole in the center of the back, and it is designed to hang up on a wall mount that can be purchased with the stool. By putting the stool up on the wall when it isn't needed, people can free up valuable floor space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Minimalist Furniture Design:** The Stove chair's minimalist design reflects a growing trend in furniture design that prioritizes simplicity and functionality. - **Space-saving Solutions:** The Stove chair's wall-mount storage solution taps into the trend of finding innovative ways to maximize space in small homes and apartments. - **Hybrid Furniture:** The chair-stool hybrid design of the Stove chair represents a trend of combining different furniture functions into one versatile piece. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The Stove chair presents an opportunity for furniture manufacturers to explore new design concepts that incorporate minimalist and space-saving solutions. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can leverage the Stove chair's innovative storage solution to offer clients creative and functional options for optimizing space in their homes. - **Home Organization:** The Stove chair's wall-mount storage feature opens up avenues for home organization companies to develop complementary products and services for maximizing space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cozy Storage-Focused Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pocket-chair.md) - [Kitchen-Inspired Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pole-collection.md) - [Highly Functional Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loki-stool.md) - [Interlocking Wooden Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tie-stool.md) - [Nostalgic Bistro-Style Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aroma-chair.md) - [Functional Flat-Packed Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walle-stool.md) - [Ultra-Minimal Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedeo-chair.md) - [Historically Influenced Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nick-beens.md) - [Intuitive Entryway Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-front-stool.md)
