# Iceberg-Inspired Home Decor This Stool and Side Table Hybrid Makes a Statement on Climate Change By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-08-02 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stool References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/iceberg-stool-side-table-harow/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds) & [harow.fr](http://www.harow.fr/) It is a well-known fact among people who follow science that icebergs have been melting as a result of human activity that created climate change -- and this stool was designed to illustrate that fact. Appropriately titled the '[Iceberg](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iceberg-crystal-speaker) Stool and Side Table,' the [home furniture piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/re-up-side-tables) was created by the French design studio 'Harow.' Each of these [stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cling-stool) have a white top accompanied by a base that was designed to look like icebergs in different shapes. The effect was created by merging fiberglass and resin. Since this stool may be uncomfortable as a chair and unsightly with things resting on top of it, it is more reasonable to let it function as a statement art piece in the home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Climate Change-inspired Home Decor:** Designing home decor pieces inspired by climate change can raise awareness and bring attention to the issue. - **Sustainable Material Usage in Home Decor:** Using materials like fiberglass and resin in home decor can create durable and eco-friendly products. - **Functional Art Pieces in Home Decor:** Designing home decor pieces that serve as functional art can add interest and uniqueness to a space. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate climate change-inspired home decor pieces in their designs to add a unique element and raise awareness. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore the use of sustainable materials like fiberglass and resin in their products to address climate change concerns. - **Art and Sculpture:** Artists and sculptors can create functional art pieces like the Iceberg Stool and Side Table to provide practical use while also adding a creative element to a space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Topographical Recycled Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/two-coffee-tables.md) - [Recycled Aluminum Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joy-stool-one.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Bulbous Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubble-stool.md) - [Terrarium Stool Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wild-stool.md) - [Chic Sustainable Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oceanides-table-collection.md) - [Sculptural Monochromatic Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monochromatic-stool.md) - [Colorful Dual-Purpose Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/s1-stool.md) - [Shimmering Oceanic Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-table.md) - [Sustainable Biophilic Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inspired-by-nature.md)
