The Stone Gate art installation is something out of a sci-fi movie. In fact, it might bring cult tv show 'Stargate' to mind. That is because it takes on an [epic circular shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-gateway-and-sky-ring) just like the gate featured in the show. Even if it wasn't similar, the Stone Gate leads people to believe that it is a portal to some other world.

Created by Raffaello Galiotto, the Stone Gate explores the balance between mass, weight and gravity. A self-supporting structure held together with nothing more than compression, it is made up of [dry-laid hewn Bardiglio nuvolato marble stones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terra-frammenti), each one weighing 500 kilograms for a total weight of 27,300 kilograms. It was exhibited at the 100% Gravity exhibition in Verona, Italy.
