When it comes to microhomes, many people imagine trailers or converted shipping containers. This microhome features a modern design that makes it look like a permanent residence. The home is located on a steep slope in rural Turin, Italy. The homes features a gray stone facade that gives the structure a stately look. The heavy stone is balanced by the floor-to-ceiling windows, which cover the front of the home. These windows also allows the primary living space to open up onto a large porch. Despite its compact design, the clever use of space makes the home feel much larger than it is. The cozy Italian cottage demonstrates that microhomes can be designed with all the amenities of a traditional house. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 100% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Glass-walled Microhomes:** Designing microhomes with glass walls brings in ample natural lighting and makes the living space appear larger. - **Modern Stone Facades:** Integrating modern stone facades with glass walls creates stunning contemporary microhome designs. - **Clever Use of Space in Microhomes:** Incorporating unique space-saving solutions in microhomes optimize every inch of the living space, making them more practical and functional. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Innovative microhome designs require the input of skilled architects who can plan smart use of materials and space to make small homes feel comfortable and spacious. - **Real Estate:** Developing microhomes as permanent residences offers a new affordable housing option that is environmentally friendly and modern. - **Construction:** Building a glass-paneled microhome requires a high level of precision and attention to detail in both the design and construction processes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Revived Stone Sheds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microhome-renovation.md) - [Compact Cottage Revivals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rustic-renovation.md) - [Compact Refurbished Micro-Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sassi.md) - [Stacked Compact Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabini-edelweiss.md) - [All-Glass Mesmerizing Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beaufort-bushland-retreat.md) - [Glass Bridge-Connected Small Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pjcarchitecture.md) - [Window-Walled Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arthur-mini.md) - [Compact Stone Conversions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/figuier-house.md) - [Generously Glazed Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atlanta-tiny-home.md)
