[Stone Age Folk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lighting-installation), a pavilion that ran during the Milan design week, offered a striking combination of materials, colors, and geometric figures. Though the display's name refers to an earlier era in humanity, perhaps the most apt comparison would be to a carnival. The pavilion indeed features bright primary colors, glass and mirrors that remind one of a funhouse, and even two small carousels.

Stone Age Folk was created by Spanish designer Jaime Hayon, who combined [48 variations of quartz](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/couture-collection-2). The quartz came from Caesarstone, and though the material is more commonly used on countertops, its combination with stained glass and metal frames added to the [playful allure of the pavilion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/play-pavilion).

At a glance, the glass patterns in the pavilion look unintelligible, but looking more closely, one will begin to notice abstract faces.
