Close your eyes and picture the typical [floor or table lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp). What image comes to mind? Does it have some sort of stand and a flaring lampshade? This is the image that the Stitched Light works to imitate, despite the fact that it has only a couple of components in common with this type of illuminator.

Designer Hyeonil Jeong begins with an incandescent lightbulb with a very lengthy twisted cord. A [laser-cut walnut board](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foreshadow-table-lamp) becomes a necessary frame and features plenty of strategically laid out drill holes through which the bright blue cable is threaded. The [rope-like wire](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hat-collection) is plugged into the wall and then enters at the bottom right corner. It's treated as stitching to define the silhouette of a lampshade, doubly outlined by the trapezoidal cutout of the Stitched Light.
