# Hovering Illusion Side Tables Jonas Herman Pedersen Designs the Unique Stilk Side Table By Amy Duong | Published 2023-05-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stilk References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2023/05/16/how-this-beautiful-wooden-side-table-seems-to-hover-in-the-air/) & [hermanstudio.dk](https://hermanstudio.dk/) Jonas Herman Pedersen designs the Stilk [side table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tong-side-table), which has a design that seemingly hovers and is held by a single pillar that is supported by the middle to create a center of gravity. This way, it will not topple onto one side or the other and overall pushes boundaries. It is entirely constructed from wood and it rests on a [thin monolith](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monumental-table) that stands off to one side. The top of the table surface is not a flat circle but it does have an edge connected to it to allow the stem to be able to fold upwards. It also makes the top seem like it is [hovering](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloud-tables1), as mentioned prior -- the height can also be adjusted by removing a small wooden rod.
