# Clay Planter Characters Stella Baggott Creates Adorable Pottery Full of Personality By Meghan Young | Published 2014-09-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stella-baggott References: [honestlywtf](http://honestlywtf.com/cool-hunting/atelier-stella/) & [atelierstella.bigcartel](http://atelierstella.bigcartel.com/) Stella Baggott of Atelier Stella has created a collection of [adorable planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-planter) that are full of personality. This is due in large part to the use of fun faces while also relying heavily on a [handmade feel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handpainted-ceramic-collections) that makes each one as unique as the next. Whether shaped like a mug or a bowl with three legs, Stella Baggott ensures that each of her designs has a playful touch people will appreciate. What makes Stella Baggott's creations even more special is how the [houseplants fit into each one](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trader-joes-mini-can-foliage). Like tufts of spiky hair or long luscious locks, her plant characters are completed when put into proper use. Granted, they could easily be used to hold other objects as well. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 42% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Adorable Planters:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of customizable adorable planters with different face designs to appeal to different customer preferences. - **Handmade Feel:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a process that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to produce handmade feel products at scale. - **Functional Houseplant Containers:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design innovative houseplant containers that not only have aesthetic appeal but also provide specific functionalities like built-in drainage systems or self-watering capabilities. ### Where This Applies - **Pottery and Ceramics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate advanced materials and manufacturing techniques in pottery and ceramics production to create unique and customizable designs. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Use 3D printing technology to create customizable and personalized home décor items like planters that cater to different customer preferences and design aesthetics. - **Gardening and Horticulture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop smart gardening solutions that combine stylish and functional planters with advanced sensor technology to monitor and optimize plant growth and care. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-planters-1.md) - [Human Hair-Made Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/range-of-pots.md) - [Clay Mug-Evolved Dynamic Seatings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lalese-stamps.md) - [Experimental Pottery Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gourd-project.md) - [Cherubic Ceramic Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avant-arte.md) - [Colorful Handmade Ceramics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloud-9-clay.md) - [Adorable Ceramic Homeware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-homeware1.md) - [Big-Headed Sculpture Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculpture-pots.md) - [Sculptural Ceramic Home Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-home-collection.md)
