Inspired by the legendary concert hall, the Elbphilharmonie Limited Edition showcases the unique nature and structure of the building while retaining the incredible craftsmanship expected from a Steinway piano. Only eight of the luxe instruments will be made and Steinway will be donating €20,000 of each sale price to Stiftung Elbphilharmonie, a charitable foundation that promotes musical education programs. In terms of craftsmanship, the Steinway Elbphilharmonie Limited Edition captures the building silhouette and is available in either a black gloss finish and in oak. The piano also incorporates the Elbphilharmonie’s awe-inspiring external façade, while the inside of the instrument features an airbrushed depiction by artist Thorsten Boehm. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Luxury Pianos:** The limited-edition Steinway Elbphilharmonie piano showcases the potential for crafting unique, visually inspired musical instruments for discerning customers. - **Charitable Collaborations:** Steinway's partnership with the Elbphilharmonie concert hall demonstrates the opportunity to use luxury goods as a means of supporting non-profit organizations. - **Artistic Integration:** The airbrushed depiction inside the Steinway Elbphilharmonie piano exemplifies the potential to combine expert craftsmanship with artistic expression in designing luxury goods. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Musical Instruments:** The luxury design of the Steinway Elbphilharmonie piano sets a standard for how high-end musical instruments can be developed with unique and visually inspired designs. - **Non-profit:** The charitable aspect of the Steinway Elbphilharmonie collaboration suggests luxury brands can leverage their products to support non-profit organizations and expand their social impact. - **Art:** The airbrushed depiction by Thorsten Boehm inside the Steinway Elbphilharmonie piano demonstrates the potential to combine artistic expression with product design to create visually stunning luxury items. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Collaboration Piano Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concept-model-piano.md) - [Stealthy Rare Wooden Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torch-t01.md) - [Digital HD Display Pianos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mozart-console-piano.md) - [Touchscreen Grand Pianos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/porochista.md) - [Opulent Artisan Aesthetic Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arendal-1528-tower-8-limited.md) - [Synchronic Piano Streaming Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piano-streaming.md) - [Incredibly Elegant Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elegant-keyboard.md) - [Radical Majestic Instrument Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ravenchord.md) - [Curved Facade Canadian Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-building-culture.md)
