The structure was built with cantilevers that were made to form a roof over a large boulder to make a parking spot. The desert Palisades Guardhouse is a security checkpoint for the newly built residential area that offers expansive views of the Chino Canyon. The design team decided to use weathered steel to give the exterior a rusted look to blend into the surrounding desert landscape.
