Nola is a Swedish company that excels in creating funky and functional designs for the urban environment. I would even have the steel square 'Wimbledon Chair' in my home with a nice sheepskin cushion. I love the strong graphic look of the grid combined with the round bend of the metal for seating. The chair comes in bright green and red; it is part of a series called 'Concrete Things' created by [Komplot](http://www.komplot.dk/Pages/OO/Concr.html), a Danish design company. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Outdoor Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the outdoor furniture industry include incorporating funky and functional designs, such as the 'Wimbledon Chair', to attract urban customers. - **Steel Design:** The use of steel in furniture design presents disruptive innovation opportunities for creating strong graphic looks, like the grid pattern in the 'Wimbledon Chair'. - **Urban Design:** Incorporating designs that are both funky and functional, like the 'Wimbledon Chair', offers disruptive innovation opportunities in the urban design industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities by incorporating funky and functional designs for outdoor furniture, similar to the 'Wimbledon Chair'. - **Design:** The design industry can tap into disruptive innovation opportunities by utilizing steel in furniture design to create strong graphic looks, such as the grid pattern in the 'Wimbledon Chair'. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can embrace disruptive innovation opportunities by introducing funky and functional designs, like the 'Wimbledon Chair', that appeal to urban customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Traditional Vibrant Outdoor Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/net-lounge.md) - [Outdoor Scandinavian Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bste-lounge-chair.md) - [Wood-Mimicking Furniture Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stool-and-table.md) - [Industrial Exterior Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/osier-lounge-chair.md) - [Playful Recycled Aluminum Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuba-chair.md) - [Contemporary Nordic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nordic-chair-design.md) - [Stainless Steel Reflective Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair.md) - [Dynamic Structural Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldont-chair.md) - [Ultra-Elegant Designer Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designer-outdoor-furniture.md)
