# Time-Travelling Steampunk Weaponry The Post-Apocalyptic Nerf Maverick is Super Badass By Viktor Dread | Published 2011-11-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-post-apocalyptic-nerf References: [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/listing/86643861/steampunk-post-apocalyptic-dystopian) & [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/people/VonGore?ref=ls_profile) I've seen a lot of steampunk, post-apocalyptic accessories around the Internet, but this [Nerf](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starfleet-phaser-blaster) [Maverick](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maverick-gt-stormy-knight) is one of the best I've ever stumbled upon. The [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade-clock) user behind this awesome piece definitely knows his stuff; the Nerf Maverick has been painted in a military theme and genuinely looks as though it's been through the trenches. The product page for the piece claims that it is "an original Raptor-6 sidearm brought to us from the future by MGySgt Ivan Tromovski," that has been "brought back from the year 2067." Though I can't profess complete faith in the truth behind that statement, I do believe it adds to the overall mystique of t he piece. Check it out if you're in the market for something fun and freaky. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Customization](https://www.trendhunter.com/customization) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Steampunk Accessory:** The trend of steampunk accessories offers opportunities to create unique and fantastical products that cater to niche markets. - **Post-apocalyptic Design:** The trend of post-apocalyptic design presents opportunities to create products with a rugged and dystopian aesthetic that appeal to fans of the genre. - **Nerf Modification:** The trend of modifying Nerf guns provides opportunities to create customized and visually striking foam blasters that cater to the hobbyist market. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Craft and Hobby:** The craft and hobby industry can capitalize on the steampunk accessory trend by offering materials, tools, and classes to DIY enthusiasts. - **Entertainment and Media:** The entertainment and media industry can explore post-apocalyptic design trends by incorporating them into movies, TV shows, and video games, creating immersive and visually stunning experiences. - **Toy and Gaming:** The toy and gaming industry can tap into the Nerf modification trend by releasing customizable foam blasters with various design options and accessories, offering consumers a unique play experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi Film-Themed Dart Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starfleet-phaser-blaster.md) - [Sci-Fi Foam Dart Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ee3-blaster.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Dart Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nerf-lmtd-halo-needler.md) - [Prehistoric Foam Dart Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nerf-dinosquad-armorstrike-blaster.md) - [Creator-Backed Toy Guns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mrbeast.md) - [Steampunk Aesthetic Espresso Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-espresso-machine.md) - [Gel Pellet Toy Guns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hasbro-1.md) - [Adult-Targeted Foam Disc Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disc-blaster.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Foam Blasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nerf-x-destiny-gjallarhorn-blaster.md)
