# Vintage Victorian Menorahs This Steampunk Menorah Provides a Punked-Out Way to Worship By Weirdward Works | Published 2011-03-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-industrial-jewish-menorah References: [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/listing/69408362/steampunk-industrial-menorah) & [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/people/WWWorks) This steampunk menorah is a functioning [7-branch candelabrum](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/core-candle-holder) used in Judaism and Jewish tradition. The candles are represented by vintage vacuum tubes, lit by [power LEDs from below](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wa-lamp) and set in a machined-hardwood slat. Each tube on the steampunk menorah is surrounded by a brass plate with David's star etched on it. Brass acorn nuts and patina give it a distinct steampunk character, while the upcycled clutch hub used as a base adds an industrial flavor. The switch is also handmade of hardwood and brass and attached to the fabric-covered cable, feeding 12 volts. This steampunk menorah is a so-called Temple menorah, as opposed to the 9-branch Chanukah menorah. Unlike Chanukah menorahs, where candles are lit one by one, the Temple menorah burns all candles at all times. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Steampunk Holiday Decor:** Create steampunk-inspired holiday decor to appeal to alternative holiday enthusiasts. - **Upcycled Home Decor:** Utilize upcycled materials for functional home decor to appeal to sustainability-minded consumers. - **Vintage-inspired Lighting:** Design vintage-inspired lighting pieces to appeal to consumers looking for unique, retro-style decor. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Create unique, alternative home decor items that appeal to alternative consumers. - **Lighting:** Design retro-inspired lighting pieces for consumers looking for unique, eye-catching lighting options. - **Sustainability:** Develop a line of home decor made with upcycled materials to appeal to sustainability-minded consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Steampunk Aesthetic Espresso Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-espresso-machine.md) - [Bespoke Brass Vintage Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nixei.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Candle Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-candle-lamps.md) - [Celebrative Hanukkah Tea Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hanukkah-gift-sets.md) - [Tear Canister Candle Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/majdulin-nasrallah.md) - [Single-Digit Nixie Tube Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamp-clocks.md) - [Fire-Inspired Artful Candelabras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forge-candelabra.md) - [Brick Puzzle Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antique-chandelier.md) - [Luxurious Sculptural Candle Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-candle-holders.md)
