# Cyborg Wildcat Taxidermy The Steampunk Bobcat is a Futuristic Demon Creature By Gil Cohen | Published 2012-12-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-bobcat References: [obviouswinner](http://www.obviouswinner.com/obvwin/2012/11/29/finally-someone-crafted-a-taxidermied-steampunk-bobcat.html) & [phoenix-cry.deviantart](http://phoenix-cry.deviantart.com/gallery/) When it comes to [taxidermy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deddy-bears), no one usually starts thinking about creations like the Steampunk Bobcat, which looks like a cyborg that has come back to avenge its death and kill the entire human race. Other than this slightly horrifying prospect, the [robotically altered stuffed cat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyberpet) would make a great decorative addition to any room in your home, perhaps right above your bed, watching over you with its piercing yellow eyes as you dream at night. The [leather and gadgetry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyber-zombie) added onto the body of the Steampunk Bobcat makes it look exactly how I would imagine all bobcats do in the future, so it's possible that the artist Phoenix Cry is responsible for the human race's eventual demise. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Steampunk Taxidermy:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for the taxidermy industry to incorporate a steampunk aesthetic into their designs. - **Cyborg Animals:** Opportunity for the tech industry to explore creating robotic parts to enhance animals for various purposes such as hunting or companionship. - **Futuristic Decor:** Opportunity for the home decor industry to expand offerings to include futuristic and sci-fi inspired decor items such as the Steampunk Bobcat taxidermy piece. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Taxidermy:** Trend of incorporating robotics and steampunk aesthetics into taxidermy designs to appeal to a broader audience for decorative purposes. - **Tech:** Exploration of creating robotic parts to enhance animals and create cyborg animals for various purposes such as hunting or companionship. - **Home Decor:** Shift towards futuristic and sci-fi inspired decor items, such as the Steampunk Bobcat taxidermy, to appeal to enthusiasts of the genre. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Autonomous AI-Powered Robot Cats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macroact-maicat.md) - [Angular Remote-Controlled Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rc-kit.md) - [Futuristic Robotic Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikeuchi-hiroto.md) - [Angular Multi-Functional Cat Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tesla-cybertruck-cat.md) - [Cat-Inspired Fuzzy Frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dry-studio-petbrick-65.md) - [Steampunk Desktop Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3in1-desk.md) - [Steampunk Aesthetic Espresso Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-espresso-machine.md) - [AI-Powered Cat Doors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flappie.md) - [Creature-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pink-robots-won.md)
