# Fighter Jet-Inspired Lighting The Stealth Lamp by Timothy Ben Furniture is Barely Perceptible By Meghan Young | Published 2013-08-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealth-lamp References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2013/08/13/stealth-chic/) & [timothybenfurniture](http://www.timothybenfurniture.co.uk/) Sleek and covert, the Stealth Lamp is modeled after the fighter aircraft it is named after. Although a much more [minimalist interpretation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-light) of the otherwise sophisticated piece of technology, the light fixture could easily be mistaken for the jet from afar. Designed by Timothy Ben Furniture, a studio based in Cardiff, United Kingdom, the Stealth Lamp is made out of a single sheet of super-strong and lightweight perspex. Laser-cut and folded, it can be placed in one of two places: [mounted on the wall](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impulse-wall-light) or hung from the ceiling. The barely perceptible design lives up to its name. Yet although the Stealth Lamp will never overwhelm any particular room, it certainly will make a statement. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Minimalist Lighting:** Opportunity for creating lamp designs that prioritize sleekness, covert design, and minimalistic features, inspired by different objects. - **Laser-cut Technology:** Innovative opportunities for using laser-cutting techniques to create unique and intricate designs for furniture and home decor products. - **Stealth-inspired Products:** Potential for developing consumer products that draw inspiration from stealth technology to create visually sleek and minimalist designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Opportunity for furniture designers to explore new ways of creating minimalist and visually striking pieces inspired by various objects or concepts. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor companies to incorporate innovative design elements, such as laser-cut technology, into their product offerings to cater to modern consumer preferences. - **Lighting Industry:** Opportunity for the lighting industry to introduce stealth-inspired light fixtures that blend seamlessly into contemporary interior design while still making a visual statement. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stealthy Pendant Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warp-lamp.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Folded Timber Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flatpack-timber-lamp.md) - [Elegant Metal Perforated Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foreshadow-table-lamp.md) - [Minimal Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp.md) - [Sleek Minimal Vertical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mute-lamp.md) - [Silkworm-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting.md) - [Perforated LED Table Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lume.md) - [Brutalist Bedside Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vestige-lamp.md)
