# Smartphone Video-Smoothing Apps The Steadycam Pro App Smooths Out Wobbly and Shaky iPhone Videos By Michael Hines | Published 2011-04-10 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steadycam-pro-app References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/steadycam-pro/18349/) & [midnox](http://midnox.com/) iPhone photo junkies are going to love the new Steadycam Pro app from Midnox. The Steadycam Pro app removes the wobbles and shakes commonly found in [cellphone videos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/filma) using what its creators call "advanced signal processing algorithms." Midnox, if you remember, is comprised of the same folks who created the [Steadycam Rig for the iPhone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snappy-mobile). The rig functioned essentially the same way, except that you had to mount it to your iPhone, which made both you and your cellphone look slightly ridiculous. If the demo video is to be believed, then the app works as well as advertised, with screen shaking and wobbling almost completely eliminated. The app is only compatible with the [iPhone 4](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iphone-4-concept). It is currently being offered as a free trial version that lets you record 15 minutes of watermarked video or a full version, which removes the watermark and time limit. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Advanced Signal Processing Algorithms:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing new algorithms that can improve video stabilization in smartphone videos. - **Smartphone Video Enhancement:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating apps that enhance the quality of smartphone videos by reducing wobbling and shaking. - **Convenient Video Stabilization:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing portable and user-friendly devices or apps for stabilizing videos captured with smartphones. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Mobile App Development:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Innovating new video-enhancing apps for smartphones with improved stabilization features. - **Smartphone Accessory Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Manufacturing portable stabilizing rigs or attachments for smartphones to improve video quality. - **Video Editing Software:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing software tools that can automatically stabilize and enhance smartphone videos during the editing process. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Proprietary Smartphone Camera Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/final-cut-camera-app.md) - [Advanced AI-Powered Smartphone Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-tracking.md) - [Automatic Tracking Smartphone Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-pro-smartphone-gimbal.md) - [Quad-Mode Smartphone Stabilizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-osmo-mobile-6.md) - [Professional-Grade Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhiyun-smooth-5.md) - [Robust Content Creator Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhiyun.md) - [Machined Aluminum Smartphone Dollies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sandmarc-motion-dolly.md) - [Motion-Tracking Smartphone Tripods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insta360-flow.md) - [Solo Vlogger Smartphone Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gimbal-griptok.md)
