Well maybe.... if I was almost blind. The Eyetonomy SightMate glasses look unbelievably geeky, but if one had [really poor vision](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ixi-eyewear) these would help restore their sight immensely. The [SightMate goggles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xanderglasses-connect) will also improve [peripheral vision](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/utrack-ar). But don't walk around! That's what the makers themselves warn. You might start crashing into things. These are designed for people who have sight problems from Diabetes or Glaucoma to improve their quality of life. I'll wear a hose in my nose to sleep, aids to help me hear, put a Boomer on Board sign in my car, so yeah, I guess I would imitate Jordi from Star Trek. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Boomers](https://www.trendhunter.com/boomers) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Assistive Eyewear for the Elderly:** Opportunity to develop improved versions with modern design and enhanced features for improving the quality of life for the elderly. - **Wearable Technology for Healthcare:** Opportunity to integrate advanced technological features like Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality in wearable healthcare products for improved patient outcomes. - **Smart Glasses for Disability Aid:** Opportunity to develop specialized smart glasses to assist people with disabilities or medical conditions like diabetes, glaucoma, etc. ### Where This Applies - **Eyewear Manufacturing:** Opportunity to incorporate technological innovations and advanced materials in eyewear manufacturing for improved functionality and aesthetics. - **Healthcare Technology:** Opportunity to develop innovative products and solutions to cater to the growing demand for wearable healthcare technology and medical aids. - **Disability Assistance Products:** Opportunity to design specialized and customized products for people with disabilities or medical conditions to improve their daily living and mobility. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Autofocus-Providing Eyewear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hightech-autofocus-eyewear.md) - [Scuba-Centric Reading Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/underwater-eyewear.md) - [Automated Vision Therapy Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-eye-care-device.md) - [Retro Night Vision Goggles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jurassic-park-goggles.md) - [Athletic Training Eyewear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/falconframes.md) - [Visual Eyewear Visor Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vision-aid-smart-visor.md) - [Advanced AI Assistance Eyewear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/looktech-ai-glasses.md) - [Audio-Amplifying Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nuance-glasses.md) - [Assistive Hearing Eyewear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xanderglasses.md)
