Available at her online [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3dprinted-cookie-cutters) store, Dean offers a number of pop nerd culture-inspired items, including this set of themed hand towels that feature the [Star Trek insignia](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-trek-uss) embroidered onto each one. These Star Trek design towels are made from a [100 percent cotton material](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cotton-towels), are each highly absorbent and come available in three different colors that cleverly reference the classic television show including 'Security Red,' 'Commander Yellow' and finally, 'Science Blue.' If you actually prefer Caption Picard over Commander Kirk, then don't worry because the shop also offers hand towels decorated with the updated insignia design from Stark Trek: The Next Generation. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Geeky Hand Towels:** Developing and selling hand towels with pop culture themes, such as Star Trek insignias, to cater to nerdy customers. - **Pop Culture-inspired Merchandise:** Creating a range of products, like towels and other household items, that are inspired by popular nerdy franchises to attract a specific consumer base. - **Customizable Home Accessories:** Designing and offering customizable home accessories, like towels with personalized designs, to provide unique and personalized options for customers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** Creating and selling home decor items, such as towels, that cater to consumers looking to incorporate their favorite pop culture themes into their living spaces. - **E-commerce:** Developing an online store, like Etsy, to sell a wide range of pop culture-inspired merchandise directly to customers, offering a convenient and accessible shopping experience. - **Niche Merchandise:** Focusing on the creation and sale of niche merchandise, like towels with specific pop culture designs, to appeal to niche customer segments and fill an underserved market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Storage Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-trek-discovery-flash-drives.md) - [Artful Graphic Beach Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artist-terry-beach-towel.md) - [Recycled Dish Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/recycled-dish-towels.md) - [Millennium Falcon Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-tray.md) - [Sustainable Modern Dish Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sustainable-modern-dish-towls.md) - [Antimicrobial Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/titan-yarn.md) - [Canadian-Inspired Tea Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canadian-tea-towel.md) - [Starship-Inspired Dynamic Timepieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magellan-automatic-star-trek-warp-speed.md) - [Sci-Fi Bath Soaps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-bath-soap.md)
