# Slatted Herbage Storage The Standard Numero 4 Vegetalise Affords and Orderly Arrangement of Plants By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-06-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standard-numero-4-vegetalise References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/48227/) & [muuuz](http://muuuz.com/magazine/rubriques/amenagement-exterieur/44520-jardins,-jardins-standard-numéro-4-végétalisé) It may be rooted in the human urge to control the unpredictable disposition of nature, but there's something so charming about the way that the Standard Numero 4 Vegetalise looks. The clever shelf-like structure itself has been designed as a collaboration between Marc Ferrand and Mathieu Jacobs, but the Jardins, Jardin arrangement for Tuileries makes the piece particularly endearing. Despite its seemingly rigid composition, the [storage system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brickbox-modular-shelving) has a more organic side. It is assembled using simple [rectangular wooden panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet) with incised slots, capable of fitting together to form stacked cubbies without any need for hardware nor adhesives. A soft woodgrain texture provides subtle rustic detail that greatly complements the lush grassy contents of the boxes. The [side-suspended planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantable-office) of the Standard Numero 4 Vegetalise enhance this puzzle-like concept. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Organic Plant Storage:** The Standard Numero 4 Vegetalise uses simple wooden panels and incised slots to keep plants stored and organized in an organic way. - **Modular Storage Design:** The puzzle-like assembly of the Standard Numero 4 Vegetalise provides an opportunity for innovative modular storage design. - **Combining Rustic and Modern Design:** The soft woodgrain texture of the Standard Numero 4 Vegetalise complements the lush green plants, creating a unique combination of rustic and modern design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor and Design:** Companies in the home decor and design industry can explore opportunities in creating plant storage solutions or modular storage designs. - **Sustainable Furniture and Decor:** The organic nature of the Standard Numero 4 Vegetalise presents an opportunity for sustainable furniture and decor companies to incorporate similar design principles. - **Gardening and Agriculture:** The side-suspended planters of the Standard Numero 4 Vegetalise can inspire innovation in gardening and agriculture industries for space-saving plant arrangements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Handle-Equipped Planter Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-plant-shelf.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vegetment-vegetable-cultivator.md) - [Gardening Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/verda-garden.md) - [Modular Urban Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planter-300.md) - [Illusory Planter Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rooted-planter.md) - [Building Block Gardening Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-planterior.md) - [Integrated Planter Worktables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantable-office.md) - [Vibrant Dynamic Wall Plant-Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floos.md) - [Office-Space Luscious Planets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bisley.md)
