One of the more interesting benches is 'Stair' from JDS Architects. 'Stair' combines the spaciousness of [bleachers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balance-bench) with the size and accessibility of a park bench. You can cram a whole lot of friends into 'Stair' from JDS Architects. I think with a more sturdy material, this bench could be a viable replacement for the standard park bench. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: South America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Multi-purpose Seating:** Designs combining the functionality of multiple types of seating offer innovation opportunities for public spaces. - **Space Maximization Seating:** Seating designs that efficiently utilize space offer innovation opportunities for small and crowded areas. - **Modular Seating:** Modular seating designs that can be adjusted to different situations offer innovation opportunities for versatility in seating arrangements. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Public Space Design:** Design firms can innovate with multi-functional seating designs that enhance public spaces while maximizing their usability. - **Outdoor Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can capitalize on the trend by developing durable, space-efficient outdoor seating solutions for public and private settings. - **Sports and Entertainment Venue Design:** Venue designers can create modular seating solutions that can be customized for different events, maximizing audience capacity and engagement. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful Public Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playful-public-seating.md) - [Artful Dockside Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pews-and-perches.md) - [Adaptive Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adp-bench.md) - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md) - [Curvaceous Sculptural Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strate-bench.md) - [Elegantly Airy Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-bench.md) - [Modular Outdoor Space Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mass-public-bench.md) - [19th-Century-Inspired Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scottish-designers.md)
