# Unevenly Stacked Buildings This Building's Staircases are Inspired by MC Escher Drawings By Christopher Magsambol | Published 2015-09-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stacked-building References: [wallpaper](http://www.wallpaper.com/architecture/rising-in-russia-zaha-hadid-dominion-tower-unveiled-in-moscow) At a first glance, this [modern Russian office complex](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/max-zone) looks as though it is an unevenly stacked building. As the building continues to rise, the off-set plated floors also continue its unsettling pattern. The building however, is only a visual illusion as it is perfectly balanced on either side. The futuristic building is going up in an apt location, a southeast area of the city with booming IT and technology companies. The stacked building houses a lavish [central atrium](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotel-volga) that rises through all of its nine floors. Through this central location is a series of [interconnected staircases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cadenza), which resemble MC Escher's famous drawings. The atrium is filled with natural light all day long as each floor's balconies have large open windows and doors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Optical Illusion Architecture:** Explore innovative design concepts that create visually striking buildings. - **Interconnected Spaces:** Discover new ways to connect different areas within a building, enhancing flow and accessibility. - **Maximizing Natural Light:** Harness the power of daylight to create efficient and visually appealing spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Construction:** Introduce unique building designs that catch the eye and challenge traditional architecture. - **Technology:** Utilize innovative materials and designs to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of tech company offices. - **Interior Design:** Incorporate interconnected spaces and natural light into interior designs for a more immersive and inviting environment. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Staggered Floor Modern Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-seven-floors.md) - [Optical Illusion Replica Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liberty-science-center.md) - [Warped Stacked Residence Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quinta-do-rei.md) - [Stacked Pebble-Inspired Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calais-port-tower.md) - [Layered Office Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schieblocks.md) - [Math Equation-Inspired Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-countless-windows.md) - [Glass-Clad Stacked Skyscrapers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/505-state-street.md) - [Playful Futuristic Work Campuses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/max-zone.md) - [Stepped Office Blocky Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/landsec.md)
