While many smartphones are equipped with a time-lapse feature, it is difficult to film this kind of footage by hand. This ring-shaped tripod makes it easier for users to stabilize their time-dependent videos. The device was created by 'Overlab' and was originally inspired by a mechanical rotating kitchen timer. The device works by rotating automatically over a particular period of time. The tripod helps to stabilize videos and replicate the same wide field of view seen in professional time-lapse footage. The timer inside the device is equipped with a mechanical engine, meaning that a user does not need to recharge the battery each time. The tripod is the perfect solution for [amateur photographers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pro-tripod) who are interested in experimenting with [time-lapse videos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photojourney). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Time-lapse Tripods:** Inexpensive smartphone tool that helps stabilize time-lapse videos, offering disruptive innovation opportunities in the photography and smartphone accessory industries. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation in time-lapse video stabilization tools and accessories. - **Smartphone Accessories:** Disruptive innovation potential in creating affordable and battery-free tools for stabilizing smartphone videos. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Facial Recognition Phone Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartphone-holder-tripod.md) - [Solo Vlogger Smartphone Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gimbal-griptok.md) - [Magnetic Mobile Device Tripods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magsafe-mobile-tripod.md) - [2-in-1 Smart iPhone Tripods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bierdi-smart-tripod.md) - [Collapsible Magnetic Smartphone Tripods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peak-design-mobile-tripod.md) - [Automated AI Smartphone Stabilizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smove-pro-mobile-x.md) - [Advanced AI-Powered Smartphone Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-tracking.md) - [Time-Lapse Content Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timelapse-content.md) - [Quad-Mode Smartphone Stabilizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-osmo-mobile-6.md)
